Ms. Rivera has been supporting students at McKinley-Thatcher since 2003. She completed part of her graduate school internship at McT and was happy to secure a permanent spot at the school when she graduated. Amy started in a very different profession after receiving her degree from Villanova University in political science. She worked on Capitol Hill for a U.S. Senator and then as a lobbyist for a private association in Washington, D.C. After soul-searching and a desire to make a more direct impact on people’s lives, she attended the University of Colorado at Boulder for her master’s in speech-language pathology. Amy loves supporting students’ communication skills and helping them to grow as learners.
Although Amy is a native New Englander, the Colorado sunshine and mountains have come to feel like home. When she’s not working, she spends a lot of time on the soccer fields cheering on her three kids. Amy loves to run, bike, and absorb all the beauty that Colorado has to offer.
