Becky Sickles
Mild/Moderate Special Education Teacher

This is Mrs. Sickles’s first full year at McKinley-Thatcher.  She has been teaching in Denver Public Schools for five years, has taught in Douglas County for 10 years, and in the Archdiocese of Denver for two years.  She is an “almost” Colorado native, having moved here in 1978 (four years old).

For undergraduate, she attended Western State Colorado University (formerly, Western State College of Colorado) in Gunnison, Colorado.  While there, she majored in History, minored in Sociology, and earned a Secondary Social Studies Teaching Endorsement. After graduating from WSC(U), she began her graduate coursework at Regis University in Denver, Colorado.  While there, she earned a Master’s in Education for Special Education and also earned an additional teaching endorsement for K-12 Moderate Needs.

Outside of school, she enjoys Pilates, walking her dogs, and reading. She is so excited to be at McKinley-Thatcher Elementary School and hopes to remain here for many years to come.
