Karyn Pocernich
School Technology Specialist


Karyn Pocernich is starting her 23rd year of teaching.  She has taught in a variety of capacities and places throughout her career. Her first 4 years were on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota as a 1st grade teacher.  From there, she jumped to teaching middle school boys in Milwaukee, WI.  After getting married, she and her husband returned to the reservation for two additional years before moving to Denver.  She has been a teacher-librarian or technology teacher throughout her 12 years working for Denver Public Schools.  This year she is beginning a new role as a School Tech Specialist, working to integrate more technology into the day to day work of students in their classrooms.
Karyn was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. Her family has three bakeries there and despite growing up on the South Side, she is a lifelong Cubs fan. She has a bachelors in Elementary Education, a K-12 endorsement as a school librarian, and a masters in Curriculum & Instruction.
