Kerri Van Eps
English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher

Ms. Van Eps has been a part of the McKinley-Thatcher community since the start of her teaching career! After supporting all grade levels as a math interventionist for one year, she moved into the third grade teaching position. Kerri taught third grade at McT for two and a half years before taking some time off to have her first child. During her time as third grade teacher, Kerri served in many roles, including teacher leadership and technology support. After starting a family, she changed roles again and has shared  the ESL position at McKinley-Thatcher since 2015. Needless to say, she loves the McKinley-Thatcher community!

Kerri earned her teaching credentials and Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Elementary Reading and Writing from the University of Colorado Denver. Kerri loves children and is so happy to be able to work with many different grade levels in her role as the ESL teacher. She is really interested in learning more about early literacy and continues to take courses to develop her expertise in that area.
