Ms. Stenftennagel is the fifth grade teacher at McKinley-Thatcher Elementary School. For the past five years, she has taught sixth and seventh grade literacy, social studies, and intervention both in Denver Public Schools and in New Jersey, where she is originally from. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Women’s and Gender Studies from The College of New Jersey in 2011. While in college, she had the unique opportunity to participate in a global student teaching program where she taught at an international elementary school in Rome, Italy.
Rachel is extremely passionate about fostering a love of learning in her students and helping them reach their greatest potential. She is especially excited to prepare her fifth graders with the skills and knowledge they need in order to be successful in middle school and beyond.
In her spare time, Rachel loves to travel. She has been to fifteen countries so far and hopes to make it to every continent one day. She also enjoys cooking, running, reading, spending time outdoors with her dog, and exploring beautiful Colorado. She is thrilled to join the dynamic students and staff at McKinley-Thatcher this year!
