Martha Biery
Kindergarten Teacher



Martha Biery is beginning her 29th year teaching in Denver Public Schools. She grew up in Oregon and earned her Elementary Education degree from the University of Oregon, along with an endorsement to teach Special Education. She earned her Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix. This is her third year working at McKinley-Thatcher, and she is very excited to be part of “Team Kindergarten” working alongside Ms. Killian.
The majority of Mrs. Biery’s career has been spent teaching special education students and upper elementary classes – primarily 4th grade. Mrs. Biery is a published author. She authored two books for the Great Lives in Colorado History series. The books were written for students to use when studying Colorado history.  When she is not working, Mrs. Biery enjoys spending time with family, reading, and a variety of outdoor activities.
