Melinda Russell
Teacher for the Visually Impaired


Melinda is a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) who works at McKinley-Thatcher, as well as a handful of other schools in the Denver area. She has been teaching for 9 years and holds a Master’s Degree in Special Education for the Visually Impaired from the University of Northern Colorado. Melinda provides educational access to students with visual impairments by teaching them braille or how to use specialized magnification and auditory devices. She loves having the opportunity to work one-on-one with her students, and often works with them throughout their educational career until they graduate high school! In her free time Melinda enjoys rock climbing, snowboarding and any type of water sport. She loves to travel and cook, and is always happy to take recommendations for a good book!
