Ms. Sarah is the teacher of our ECE program for four year-olds, and joined the McKinley-Thatcher team in 2016. Sarah has taught early childhood education at independent schools in Texas and Utah, as well as spending a year abroad teaching in Costa Rica. Prior to her start at DPS, she spent five years teaching at Paddington Station Preschool. Sarah earned her Bachelor’s degree in Cultural Anthropology from Colorado College, and went on to receive her teaching credential and Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Colorado.
Sarah is a native New Englander, having spent her childhood growing up in the western mountains of Maine. Sarah enjoys teaching young children because she values the importance of a strong educational foundation as an indicator of future success. She is inspired by the creativity, joy, curiosity and love of learning that she sees in the classroom everyday.
When not teaching, Sarah enjoys exploring the world with her husband, Devin, a backpack, and their tent. As a lifelong learner, she loves to visit new places, learn about different cultures, and seek out new experiences.
