Chess Wizards is one of the nation’s premier chess education companies. Our interactive, discovery-based curriculum inspires students to think ahead, visualize their goals, treat others with respect and to learn from mistakes. First, we let kids get the wiggles and giggles out with 10 minutes of free play and review of past taught topics. We then go right into the week’s lessons. We separate students based on skill levels and teach different lessons best suited to their individual needs. All lessons have an activity and homework to accompany them and we have well over 80 different lessons to keep challenging our little wizards!
Through playful, developmentally appropriate breathing, movement, and mindfulness practices, students are taught tools and techniques to calm their minds and bodies, resulting in lasting, positive impact on emotional well-being, social skills and physical heath. We combine traditional yoga poses (modified to be age-appropriate and with easy-to-remember names) with creative expressions, storytelling, breathing and mindfulness games, and quite a bit of silliness.
Woodshop Wizards is a youth-level woodworking enrichment program. Students will learn to use essential hand tools as well as safety of each tool. Students will build multiple projects and take all their work home with them. Our mission is to teach hands-on learning while students work in groups to learn skills they never knew they had!
