    What is SchoolChoice?

SchoolChoice is the Denver Public Schools program designed to ensure all students have access to quality schools. Families complete a SchoolChoice application to sign up for a space at their preferred school. Round One of the 2019-2020 SchoolChoice program runs from January 15 to February 20.

The application deadline has been extended to 4:00pm on Wednesday, February 20, 2019.

What do I need to do?

You must complete a SchoolChoice application if your student will be entering ECE-3, ECE-4, or kindergarten in the 2019-2020 school year. McKinley-Thatcher will be open to help with SchoolChoice starting on Tuesday, January 15 at 7:30am.

    To complete an application

The SchoolChoice process is completely online! You may compete your application on your phone, tablet, or computer at schoolchoice.dpsk12.org. You can even take pictures of the documents you need to submit!

If you need a computer or scanner, please come by our main office – we are happy to help!

What documents do I need for my application?

    • For incoming ECE-3, ECE-4, and kindergarten students, you’ll need to provide proof of address and your student’s birth certificate.
      • ECE-4 students must also provide proof of income for the last 30 days.

How much will my child’s tuition be?

Tuition for ECE-3, ECE-4, and kindergarten is calculated on a sliding scale based on family size and income. Families will receive information about their estimated tuition during the SchoolChoice application process.
