Librarian/School Technology Representative
Ms. Karyn Pocernich is returning for her sixth year at McKinley-Thatcher. This year she will continue to work with all of the technology in the building as well as supporting teachers and students in the various assessments taken throughout the year. This will be her second year happily working as the school’s librarian!
She has taught in a variety of areas and locations, including the Pine Ridge Reservation and in Milwaukee. She began in the classroom as a 1st grade teacher and then was a middle school teacher; she has also been a school librarian, music teacher and technology teacher.
Ms. Pocernich was born and raised on the south side of Chicago. She enjoys playing the recorder with the Denver Recorder Society and the Colorado Recorder Orchestra, and plays a variety of other instruments. She and her husband love to visit South Dakota or California when they get the chance. She is also a Library of Congress Certified Braillist. She is very proud of that achievement.
