For families wishing their kindergarten age children to stay the full day, from 9:00 a.m.-3:45 p.m, McKinley-Thatcher offers an extended day kindergarten program. This program has the same core kindergarten curriculum as the half day program, with the addition of a tuition supported afternoon enrichment program funded by the parents. Parents' tuition also funds a paraprofessional to assist in the classroom from 12-4 p.m. Tuition rates for the program are based on parental income and the number of partial and full scholarships we have available.

McKinley-Thatcher's kindergarten teachers, Mrs. Roberta Genty (half-day kindergarten) and Mrs. Kathy Redd (full-day kindergarten), are teachers licensed to teach elementary schools with an Early Childhood Education endorsement. They both have many years of experience working with young children. Trained paraprofessionals assist in the kindergarten classrooms, and parent volunteers are welcome.
