McKinley-Thatcher fosters a love of learning through experiential education, individualized approaches, and supporting the growth of the whole child.
McKinley-Thatcher inspires authentic, joyful learners who are ready to explore the world. Students achieve academic excellence supported by teachers and staff who create 21st century learning environments and foster social and emotional development.
During the 2017-18 school year, our staff, current families, and future families worked together to create a long-term strategic vision and mission for our incredible school, with the goal of ensuring that our values align with our community’s desires for educating their youth.
Through this process, we learned the things people love about our school: our tight-knit community, our neighborhood feel, our small school and class sizes, our high-quality leadership, and the diversity of our student body. We also discovered that our community values and embraces 21st century learning and STEM (science, technology, engineering, & math) opportunities. We combined these qualities to form our new mission and vision statements, which also serve as a basis to our three-year strategic plan. Through our plan, we will further develop experiential education programs, foster individualized learning for each of our students, and continue to support students in their social and emotional growth.
Our three-year plan for supporting experiential learning, individualized approaches, and the growth of the whole child.
