McKinley-Thatcher Elementary welcomes you and your learners! We are committed to providing equitable and accessible information about our school to all interested families, and we’re working hard to create a 100% online experience for prospective families this year. On this webpage, we’ve collected all our digital informational material for families and shared details about the SchoolChoice application process.

To learn more about our school, families are encouraged to sign up for a virtual open house, read through our digital school brochure, and/or check out our video school tour (coming mid-January!).

PLEASE NOTE: Our ECE-3 program is ENDING in May 2021. We will not be offering an ECE-3 program next school year (2021-22).

2020-2021 Virtual Open Houses

We are excited to offer virtual Open Houses for prospective families during Round One of SchoolChoice! Open Houses are hosted on Zoom by our principal, Sonia Geerdes.

What is School Choice & How Do I Apply?

SchoolChoice is the Denver Public Schools application program designed to ensure all students have access to quality schools. Families complete a SchoolChoice application to sign up for a space at their preferred school. Round One of the 2020-2021 SchoolChoice program runs from January 15 to February 16. Applications are due by 4:00pm on Tuesday, February 16, 2021. Round Two of the 2020-2021 SchoolChoice Program opens on April 6.
