Save-the-Date for our August events!
- Monday, August 8 to Friday, August 12 – School Registration (online ONLY): complete registration paperwork, pay school fees, and receive important school year information through our website.
- Thursday, August 18, 4:00pm-5:30pm – Open House: join us in our building to meet your teachers and tour classrooms.
- Monday, August 22 – First Day of School & Welcome Celebration: our first day of school is Monday, August 22. Join us on our playground at 7:15am for our Welcome Celebration!

- Please note that, in addition to the district-wide “no school” days, McKinley has four special “no school” days (see below!).

2022-2023 School Hours + Before & After-School Care
- Just a reminder that our 2022-2023 school hours are 7:30am to 2:30pm!
- Our Discovery Link (DL) program is offering AFTER-school care next year for ECE-5th grade students. Afternoon care will operate from 2:30pm to 6:00pm. DL is also hoping to offer BEFORE-school care FOR K-5th GRADE ONLY (not ECE) from 6:30am to 7:30am, but will only be able to do so if we have 15 or more children signed up. Mark Your Calendar for Our PTA Summer Playdates!

Our PTA is excited to host three special summer playdates for McKinley families! Mark your calendars now so you can come have fun with your school friends!

Friday, June 17, 4:00pm-5:00pm, on our playground
Sunday, July 10, 3:00pm-4:00pm, on our playground
Saturday, August 6, 3:00pm-6:00pm, at Harvard Gulch Pool

In Other News…

Over the last couple of weeks, our students in 2nd through 5th grade have gotten a refresher course on using Sora, Denver Public Schools’ ebook and audiobook library! DPS students of all ages are invited to participate in the “Summer of Sora” reading program, organized by DPS Library Services. We’ve got a fun Bingo activity for students to complete here. Families can also visit our school library online at lion.dpsk12.org for other reading resources!

And, don’t forget that Denver Public Libraries are running their annual “Summer of Adventure” reading program, too!
