It’s TONIGHT: Flourish Auction @ Moss Denver!

Please join us on TONIGHT (Friday, April 14) @ Moss Denver (200 Santa Fe Dr.) from 7:00pm to 10:00pm for Flourish, McKinley-Thatcher’s Live Auction Party! There will be light bites, desserts, & drinks. Visit our auction site for more event information and to check out our online auction, which ends at 8:00pm tonight!

K-5th Grade Field Trip: STEM Day at Coors Field!

McKinley-Thatcher’s K-5th grade classes are going to the 11th Annual STEM Day at Coors Field on Thursday, May 4! This amazing day incorporates physics, math, and meteorology into unique science experiments that are a blast to watch. (Literally! There will be explosions!)

Please complete this Google form to give your child permission to attend STEM Day, to sign up to chaperone, and to see ticket pricing information (scholarships are available – please complete the form to request one!).  

Paying / Donating for STEM Day Tickets

STEM Day tickets cost $15/person (for both children and adults). We’re also collecting donations to help pay for scholarships and staff tickets!

Payments can be made by giving cash to your child’s teacher, bringing cash or card to the main office, or online using MySchoolBucks (click on the “Field Trip” item in our school store).

  • Mark your calendars: we have NO SCHOOL on Friday, April 28! This is a McKinley-Thatcher staff planning day.

  • Class Pictures now available: please visit the Bloom School Pictures’ website to view your student’s spring class pictures and place orders! Families can also place orders for our fall 2022 individual student portraits. For detailed instructions on ordering, visit our webpost here!

  • ECE-4th grade families, please help us plan ahead for next school year by letting us know here if your family will be returning to McKinley-Thatcher! Please complete this form by Monday, April 17, 2023. If you have completed the paper version of this form in your child’s Friday Folder, you do not need to submit the digital version. 5th grade families do not need to respond.

  • K-4th grade families: families of students going into 1st through 5th grade next school year (this year’s current kindergarten through 4th graders) are invited to register for Denver Public Schools’ FREE Summer Connections 2023 program! For dates, times, and locations + registration information, click here!

  • We have the following community news to share with our families!
    • We are excited to share the givingSPREE fundraising campaign, hosted by South Platte River Environmental Education (SPREE)! SPREE, part of the Greenway Foundation, has been introducing Denver area youth to the South Platte River through school excursions, day camps, and more for over 40 years. Each of McKinley’s classrooms receive a free SPREE field trip every year, and SPREE relies on donations to provide these experiences at no cost to our school. Donate to givingSPREE this April and help keep Denver youth playing outside!

    • 241 Denver South Sports Camp: South High School partners with 241 Sports to bring our community the BEST sports sampling camp experience in Denver! The camp is hosted and staffed by Denver South coaches and student-athletes, and is for all students in 1st-8th grade. For dates, times, and registration, click here!
