REMINDER:
NO SCHOOL Today or Monday, September 4!

We have NO SCHOOL today (Friday, September 1) or Monday (September 4). Today is a McKinley professional learning day for our staff and Monday is Labor Day. Classes resume on Tuesday, September 5. Enjoy the long weekend!

Save-the-Date:
Back-to-School Night Is Thursday, September 14!

Please mark your calendars for our annual Back-to-School Night event on Thursday, September 14 from 4:00pm to 5:30pm! Back-to-School Night is the perfect opportunity to sit down with your child’s teachers to learn more about classroom rituals and routines, curriculum, and school policies. 

Teachers will offer two identical sessions. Families can attend the one that works best for them, and families with multiple students can attend both!

  • Session #1: 4:00pm to 4:40pm
  • Session #2: 4:45pm to 5:25pm

We’re also providing free childcare for McKinley students – we’ll share more details about that in next week’s newsletter!

You’re Invited to PTA’s First Meeting of the Year!

Join our PTA for their first meeting of the year on Thursday, September 7 at 7:30am on our playground! Coffee is provided – please bring your own cup. 

  • Learn about what your PTA does for McKinley.
  • Get to know other McKinley families. 
  • Hear about event plans for the year.
  • Find out how to get involved.
  • All are welcome!

Community News & Resources

  • DPS Discount Days: thanks to the DPS Foundation, the DPS community can purchase discounted tickets to local sporting events! The next DPS Discount Day is the Saturday, September 16 Colorado Rapids game at 7:30pm. Tickets start at $15, with $5 from each ticket sold being donated back to the DPS Foundation!
