- Upcoming event at Decker Library: many classic children’s books have been banned, including Maurice Sendak’s classic tale Where the Wild Things Are. At Decker Library, part of the Denver Public Library system, we believe everyone—including children—has the right to read. For Banned Book Week (October 5 to 11), Decker Library invites children to guess which pages of a popular banned book are in a jar at the front desk. Each correct guess earns a sticker, and participants can enter a drawing to win a Where the Wild Things Are plushy. Prizes are awarded to first, second, and third place winners.
