Our annual PTA Auction is on March 13, 2026, and we need your help to make it a success!
This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and this year we’re working to close a $400,000 funding gap—that’s $1,335 per student. We hope to raise $150,000 through this event to ensure we can continue to support our librarian, school counselor, and paraprofessionals—vital roles that enrich every McT student’s experience.
To donate, fill out the donation form here!
If you have questions or want to help in other ways, please email our PTA auction committee at mctauction@gmail.com.
Let’s come together to support our kids and make this event bigger than ever!
Despite the warm weather, winter is coming! We’d like to share our school’s winter weather policies and weather closure / delayed start information. You can also see these and other school policies and procedures on our school website here.
The district’s decision to close schools during winter weather conditions is not a simple one, but it is made with one overriding factor in mind: the well-being of students, their families, and staff. It is a good idea to decide in advance how to best keep up with the changes, what childcare arrangements are needed, and how to adjust if schools are closed due to inclement weather.
If the decision is made to close schools, the district’s Communications Office will immediately notify families via text and email, as well as local television and radio stations, which will broadcast regular announcements of school closures or delays.
Weather-related school closures will be posted on the district’s homepage, the district’s weather page, and the district’s Facebook page.
Sometimes, the district may call for a delayed start instead of a full day closure. When DPS schools are on a delayed start due to winter weather, McKinley-Thatcher will operate on a two-hour delay, opening at 9:30 AM, with drop-off beginning at 9:15 AM. Dismissal will still be at 2:30 PM.
Delayed start information will be communicated to families in the same ways as snow day school closures.
The situation around SNAP benefits during the month of November is changing a lot! For the most current information about the status of SNAP, please visit the Colorado Department of Human Services’ website here. To see information specific to our school families, visit our website here.
Our Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) is generously matching donations for grocery gift cards made through Colorado Gives from now until Saturday, November 22! Gift cards will be purchased by the PTA and distributed directly to our McT community through the school.
If your family is affected by the SNAP benefits disruption, please complete this Google form to request grocery store gift cards to help out during November.
Please note: the availability of gift cards will depend on donations we receive from our community. We will make every effort to help all families who request assistance, but assistance is not guaranteed. We strongly encourage families to identify other local food resources, too!
Please let us know how we are doing! Send us a shoutout, an idea you have to help us get better, or a concern that you would like addressed. Responses can be submitted using this Google form. Thank you!
