IT’S TONIGHT: 2026 McKinley-Thatcher Auction!
Our 2026 McKinley-Thatcher Auction is TONIGHT (March 13) from 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM at Moss Denver (200 Santa Fe Dr.)! This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and a true community celebration, all to help close our school’s funding gap. Visit the auction website here for live event information and virtual bidding!
Kindergarten – 2nd Grade Families: You’re Invited to Our K-2nd Grade Student Learning Showcase!
Our kindergarten through 2nd grade families are cordially invited to our K – 2nd Grade Student Learning Showcase on Wednesday, March 25 from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM! During our showcase event, students will present key aspects of their learning from their grade level classes and their technology, art, and drama classes to their families.
Event Details
- Who: Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade students and their families.
- What: Students will present key aspects of their learning to their families.
- When: Wednesday, March 25, 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM
- Students should arrive in time for their grade level performance (see below). Families can visit classrooms before and after performances!
- Where: Performances are in the cafeteria, while other work is displayed in your child’s homeroom classroom and in the main hallway / lobby.
- Why: Join us to celebrate our students and their successes this year!
- How: No RSVP is required, but students cannot attend alone, so please come with your children!
Musical Performances
Each grade level will give a short musical performance with Ms. Katherine, our drama teacher. All performances will be held in the cafeteria. Students should arrive in time for their grade level performance (see below!).
- Kindergarten: 4:15 PM to 4:30 PM
- 1st grade: 4:45 PM to 5:00 PM
- 2nd grade: 5:15 PM to 5:30 PM
Other School News
- Save-the-Date: our Parent-Teacher Association’s (PTA) March fundraiser with a local business is Tuesday, March 24 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Snarf’s Sandwiches on Broadway (1490 S. Broadway). On this day, 20% of all purchases go back to our school! This fundraiser is not valid for app, delivery, or online orders – in-person and phone orders only, please.
Please note: families must present the fundraiser flyer here (PDF) physically or digitally at the cash register or mention it if ordering by phone. The flyer will be going home in our March 20 Friday Folders!
- Mark Your Calendars: we have NO SCHOOL from Monday, March 30 to Monday, April 6. This is our spring break (March 30 to April 3), followed by a professional development & training day for our staff (April 6). School will resume on Tuesday, April 7!
- Volunteer with Free Book Friday: our school librarian, Ms. Goldberg, is looking for volunteers to help out with Free Book Friday, a recurring book giveaway organized by school staff for the McKinley-Thatcher community! To see more information and to sign up, visit our SignUpGenius here.

- Igniting Independence Support Group: help your children (ages 8-12) build skills, boost confidence, and reduce anxiety via a parent / caregiver group for families offered by Heart First Therapy. See more information here (PDF).
