Hello McKinley-Thatcher families!

We hope you’re enjoying your summer break and that you’ve had some time to rest and relax! It’s almost time to start thinking about the beginning of the 2021-2022 school year, so we’re writing to share information about a few important events coming up in August.

Important Summer Dates for McKinley-Thatcher Families

Families, please note: we are hopeful that we’ll be able to host in-person events this August. We will keep you updated about this as we get closer to the beginning of the school year. 

• McKinley-Thatcher Main Office reopens!
  • When: Monday, August 2
  • What: our main office reopens for the 2021-22 school year.
• McKinley’s Online School Registration
  • When: Monday, August 9 to Monday, August 16
  • What: during our school registration, families can visit our website to complete registration paperwork and get important back-to-school information.
• Open House
  • When: Thursday, August 19, 5:30pm-6:30pm
  • What: meet your student’s teachers and see our classrooms!
• First Day of School
  • When: Monday, August 23
  • What: first day of school for all McKinley students!
• Back-to-School Night
  • When: Thursday, September 9, 5:30pm-6:30pm
  • What: families are invited to come get to know their children’s teachers, learn about curriculum and classroom expectations, and get answers to any questions they might have!

McKinley-Thatcher has also scheduled four additional days for professional development and teacher planning. These days are different from the DPS calendar, and are noted here in addition to the calendar above.

• Friday, September 24, 2021 — no school
• Friday, January 15, 2022 — no school
• Friday, March 11, 2022 — no school
• Friday, April 29, 2022 — no school
