McKinley-Thatcher Halloween Celebration: Tuesday, October 31
We are excited to celebrate Halloween at school on the morning of Tuesday, October 31!
Halloween Celebration Schedule: Tuesday, October 31
- 7:45am: Costume Parade for FAMILIES on our field.
- Families are welcome to join us on our field at 7:45am for our student costume parade!
- Students should wear their costumes to school in order to participate in our costume parade.
- 8:00am: Classroom Parties for STUDENTS ONLY in classrooms.
- Students will enjoy a morning Halloween party with crafts and snacks.
- Look for information from your teacher for ways to help out!
- Due to space limitations, our classroom parties are for students ONLY.
- Costume Directions
- Students will change out of their costumes after their classroom parties, so please send a change of clothes.
- Halloween costumes must be school-appropriate and may not have fake blood/gore or weapons.
- Face masks may only be worn during our parade.
Don’t Celebrate Halloween?
If you prefer that your child does not participate in our Halloween celebration, we will have an alternative activity available in the library. Please submit this online form or return the paper form that went home in today’s Friday Folders in order to have your child participate in the alternative activity.
2023-2024 Student & Class Pictures Now Available to Order!
We are excited to announce that Bloom School Pictures has our students’ Picture Day and class photo galleries ready for families to view! Please visit Bloom’s website to view your student’s gallery and order pictures.
To Access Your Student’s Gallery
- On Bloom’s website, scroll down to the “Order Pictures” section and click on the blue “Fall 2023 Galleries” button.
- When prompted, enter the email address you’d like to use for ordering pictures.
- Click on “Fall 2023” to find your student’s individual gallery. Click on “Class Photos” to find your student’s class photo gallery.
- Enter your student’s school ID number for their gallery password.
- Review your child’s photos and order any that you’d like to.
Picture Retake Day: Monday, October 23 during school hours
If your student was absent on their school picture day, or if you would like new individual pictures, you may sign your student up to participate in our Picture Retake Day, which is Monday, October 23 during school hours.
To sign up for retakes, visit Bloom’s website, scroll down to the blue “Retakes” section and complete the sign-up form.

- Save-the-Date: registration for our winter after-school enrichment session opens on Thursday, October 26! Check out our winter brochure here for a sneak peek.
- Submit your information for the PTA Contact Book! Our PTA’s Contact Books help families schedule playdates, birthday parties, and other events. If you’d like to have your information included in the contact book for your student’s class, please check out the instructions on our contact book form by Monday, October 30!
- PTA RIF Days: all McKinley students are receiving a FREE book from our PTA’s Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) days on October 24 and 25! Children will visit the RIF giveaway during school hours.
