K-5th Grade Families:
You’re Invited to Our Student Learning Showcase on Wednesday, 5/1!
Our kindergarten through 5th grade families are cordially invited to our Student Learning Showcase on Wednesday, May 1 from 4:00pm to 5:30pm!
Event Details
- Read our event information in Arabic, Spanish, and Vietnamese!
- Who: All K-5th grade students and their families!
- What: Students will present key aspects of their learning to their families.
- When: Wednesday, May 1, 4:00pm to 5:30pm
- This is an ‘open house’ style session — families may come anytime after 4:00pm!
- Where: In your child’s homeroom class
- Why: To celebrate our amazing students and their incredible success this year!
- How: No RSVP is required, but children cannot attend alone. Please come with your children so they can share their hard work with you!

PTA’s April Restaurant Fundraiser:
Chook on Monday, 4/22 & Tuesday, 4/23!
Families are invited to enjoy our April Restaurant Fundraiser at Chook’s Pearl Street location (1300 S. Pearl St.) on Monday, April 22 and Tuesday, April 23!
To participate, mention McKinley to your server or enter the code “SCHOOLS20” online at Chook’s website to have a portion of sales donated to our school!
Check Out the DPS STEAM Expo on Saturday, 5/4!
We are excited to invite families to attend the 2nd Annual DPS STEAM Expo on Saturday, May 4 from 9:00am to 3:00pm at CSU Spur (4777 National Western Dr., Denver, CO 80216). The Expo is a free event for all DPS families to explore the world of STEAM – Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Math!
Please note that, because we are not hosting a school Science Fair this year, students who are interested in completing a science fair project may register their projects for the Science Fair portion of the STEAM Expo here or by scanning the QR code on the flyer in our April 18 Friday Folders.
McKinley will also have several groups of 4th and 5th grade students representing our school at the STEAM Expo in drama and robotics demonstrations. Please come cheer on our school community!

- 3rd-5th grade families: our CMAS math testing begins on Monday, April 22! For more information on CMAS testing, including our full testing calendar, visit our website here.
- QPR Gatekeeper Training: on Monday, April 22, we’ll be hosting a QPR Gatekeeper Training in suicide prevention for our school and several neighboring schools from 4:45pm to 6:15pm. For more information, and to register for this training, please see our event flyers in English, Arabic, Spanish, and Vietnamese.
- We Need Your Help: volunteer with our Free Book Friday giveaways to help spread the love of reading to our children! Volunteer shifts are from 2:00pm to 3:00pm on Fridays from now through May. We need volunteers on:

- Friday, May 24
