School Picture Galleries Are Now Available!

We are excited to announce that Bloom School Pictures has our students’ Picture Day galleries ready for families to view! Please visit Bloom’s website here to view your student’s gallery and order pictures.

To Access Your Student’s Gallery

  1. On Bloom’s website, scroll down to the “Order Pictures” section and click on the blue “Fall 2025 Galleries” button. 
  2. When prompted, enter the email address you’d like to use for ordering pictures. 
  3. Click on “Fall 2025 — Student Individuals” to find your student’s individual gallery. Click on “Fall 2025 — Class Photos” to find your student’s class photo gallery.
  4. Enter your student’s school ID number for their gallery password. If you don’t know their ID number, call our main office at (720) 424-5600 or use the district’s student ID retrieval tool here.
  5. Review your child’s photos and order any that you’d like to. For help with ordering, use Bloom’s Picture Day guide here.

Picture Retake Day: Wednesday, October 22

If you would like retakes of your student’s individual school pictures, you may sign up for our Picture Retake Day, which is Wednesday, October 22 during school hours. Students who are absent on our original School Picture Day on September 29 are automatically signed up for our Picture Retake Day.

How Do I Sign Up?

Sign up for retakes at thebloombeehive.com/mckinley. Please scroll down to the “Need a Retake?” section and click on the blue “Sign Up for Retakes” button to complete the sign-up form.

School Halloween Celebration:
Thursday, October 30

Our school Halloween celebration is coming up soon on Thursday, October 30! Please note that our celebration is being held on October 30 because we have no school on Friday, October 31!

Halloween Celebration Schedule: Thursday, October 30

  • School-Wide Costume Parade: 7:45 AM to 8:00 AM on our grounds.
    • Families are welcome to join us for our parade! 
    • Students should wear their costumes to school in order to participate in our costume parade.
  • Classroom Parties: classrooms will also hold Halloween parties, which are for students only.
    • Look for information from your child’s teachers for ways to help out!
    • Due to space limitations, our classroom parties are for students *ONLY*.

Costume Information

  • Costumes must be school-appropriate.
  • No masks of any kind may be worn at school. Shoes must be worn at all times.
  • No fake weapons may be brought to school. No fake blood may be used.
  • All costumes, accessories, make-up, face paint, etc. must be applied at home. Spray cans for hair color or special make-up may not be used in the school building.
  • If students are dressing as someone of a gender different than the one they identify as, it must be done respectfully and as a specific character or entity.

What If My Family Does Not Celebrate Halloween?

We will have an alternative activity available in the library for students who are not participating in our Halloween celebration. If you prefer that your child not participate, please return the form that was included in our October 17 Friday Folders or click here to complete our digital form.

PTA October Restaurant Fundraiser:
Chook on Pearl on October 21 & 22

Once a month, our Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) partners with a local restaurant to fundraise for our school! 

This month, families are invited to enjoy our October Restaurant Fundraiser at Chook on Pearl (1300 S. Pearl St.) on Tuesday, October 21 and Wednesday, October 22! On these days, mention McKinley-Thatcher to your server or enter code “Schools20” online at ChookChicken.com and our PTA will receive a portion of sales as a donation!

  • Coming next week: registration for the winter session of our after-school enrichments opens on Tuesday, October 21 at 6:00 AM and closes on Monday, November 3 at 10:00 PM. View the enrichment course catalog by clicking here.

  • Let Grow Committee Meeting: come see what the PTA’s Let Grow Committee is up to! Stop by after drop-off at 7:30 AM on Friday, October 24 outside by the picnic tables! We’ll chat about building connections with other families and fostering independence in our kids. Everyone’s welcome — the more parents and guardians, the merrier!   • Mark your calendars: we have no school on Friday, October 31. This is a DPS Staff Planning Day.
    • School Halloween celebrations will be held on Thursday, October 30.
