Volunteer Opportunities

Current families and community members are welcome to volunteer at our school events or for special projects throughout the school year. Current families can get in touch with their child’s teacher for information about volunteer opportunities for classroom events. You may also visit Volunteer Services with Denver Public Schools for more information on volunteer positions at the district level.

All McKinley-Thatcher volunteers who will be in our building regularly, as well as field trip chaperones, will be asked to complete a free background check through Sterling Volunteers, Denver Public Schools’ volunteer management company.

We typically need volunteers for:

• Book Fairs
• Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week
• Field Day
• Chili Cook-Off
• Fall Dance
• Annual School Auction
