Ashlee grew up in sunny San Diego, California. She always loved school and, when she wasn’t at school, she was often at the local public library. Ashlee enjoyed school so much that she decided she wanted to be a teacher, and got her degree in Liberal Studies from San Diego State University. Ashlee went to Guatemala to teach students English during spring break in her junior and senior year. She continued her education at SDSU, got her teaching credential, and began her career in San Diego teaching primary grades.

Ashlee loved San Diego, but her partner’s education took them to Los Angeles where she taught 6th and 4th grade. They then moved to  Northern California and Ashlee taught 2nd grade for 6 years before moving to Denver. Ashlee is thrilled to call Denver her home and set down roots here. She is so excited to teach 5th grade Literacy at McKinley-Thatcher Elementary!
