K is a special education paraprofessional here at McKinley-Thatcher. This is their second year at our school, and, before that, they taught preschool over at the OpenAir Academy in Rino. K loves working at McKinley because of its sense of community and how engaging everyone is. K is currently in school working towards their teaching license and hopes to become an elementary school teacher in the next few years.

K grew up in Massachusetts but has spent the last seven years in Colorado with their partner and four pets. K got into the education field because of their passion for early childhood education and is super excited to eventually start teaching in a class of their own! When K isn’t at school, you can find them exploring nature trails with their dog, eating yummy meals with pals and making collages in the park.
