3rd Grade Math, Science, & Social Studies Teacher
Ms. Evans loves the McKinley- Thatcher community! Ms. Evans is the 3rd and 4th grade Math, Science, and Social Studies teacher at McKinley-Thatcher Elementary and she is a teacher leader for SEL and Equity this year.
She cares deeply about the power of learning, cultivating a strong community, and empowering her students to access their greatest potential. She loves teaching 3rd and 4th grade because she believes it is a pivotal time in her student’s lives academically and developmentally. She is passionate about supporting the growth of the whole child with a focus on restorative and culturally responsive practices and social emotional learning. She believes this is essential to supporting the belonging and wellbeing of her students while teaching them to achieve their academic goals. She looks forward to preparing her students to be successful 21st century learners and watching them grow!
She earned her graduate degree from the University of Colorado Denver for Leadership in Education and Policy Studies. She graduated from Metropolitan State University of Denver with a Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Sciences with a minor in Elementary Education.
In her free time, she enjoys painting, drawing, hiking, camping, and spending time with her friends, family and dog.
