Ms. Schroeder is excited to be returning to McKinley-Thatcher for her second year of teaching kindergarten math, science, and social studies! Before that, she taught 2nd grade for seven years in Douglas County. While working on her degree in Elementary Education at University of Northern Colorado, Ms. Schroeder also worked as an instructional paraprofessional in Denver Public Schools for four years. She is happy to have made it back to DPS to teach; she loves the McKinley-Thatcher community she’s found here, and feels lucky to platoon with a great kindergarten team!

Ms. Schroeder grew up here in Colorado, and learned to love skiing and hiking every weekend with her parents, brother, and sisters. With her parents retired in Steamboat Springs, she loves getting up to the mountains as often as she can, and is especially happy to see her nephews, Noah and Freddie, learning to love everything Colorado has to offer too!

After getting home from school each day, Ms. Schroeder’s favorite thing is to get out for long walks with her partner, Chris, and their three dogs, Ax (their husky), Snuggles (their German Shepherd/Beagle mix), and Penny (their small white fluffy dog). She also enjoys connecting with friends over coffee or board game nights, and can never pass up on good Mexican food or sushi!
