Mrs. Sarah Kirkwood is thrilled to be teaching Math, Science, and Social Studies to first graders at McKinley-Thatcher Elementary. A native of Michigan, Mrs. Kirkwood earned her Bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and later pursued a Master’s degree in Education Curriculum and Adaptive Leadership from Adams State University. With 15 years of experience in education, Mrs. Kirkwood has served in various roles including reading and math interventionist, instructional coach, and classroom teacher. Her passion for teaching is evident in her commitment to fostering a love of learning in her students. She loves watching her students discover new concepts and take on challenges with enthusiasm.

Outside the classroom, Mrs. Kirkwood enjoys spending quality time with her husband and two sons. The family shares a love for the outdoors, often hiking and biking together. Mrs. Kirkwood is excited to partner with you this year to support your child’s educational journey!
