McKinley-Thatcher School Auction Is Coming in May!

Mark your calendars now for our annual school auction! Our PTA will be holding a virtual auction from Friday, May 6 to Friday, May 13, followed by an in-person celebration on our playground on Saturday, May 14 from 11:00am to 1:00pm! More details are coming soon!

FREE DPS Summer Program for Current K-4th Graders!

We are excited to announce that, this summer, Denver Public Schools (DPS) is hosting Summer Connections, a FREE full-day, 6-week summer program available in all DPS regions for ALL 2022-2023 1st-5th grade students (this year’s current kindergarten to 4th graders)! Summer Connections combines literacy, math, and science for kids in hands-on enrichment experiences in STEM, Art, and Spark Career Exploration. Students may also receive individual or small group tutoring during the program. For more information and to register, please visit the Summer Connections website here. Registration is open now through Friday, March 25!

Families with students who are going into ECE-4, Kindergarten, or 6th grade can visit the district’s Summer Programs website for information on programming for these age groups.

In Other News…

  • Mark your calendars: we have NO SCHOOL this coming Monday, February 21 (Presidents’ Day) or Tuesday, February 22 (DPS Teacher Planning Day).

  • In case you missed it: read our February 11 Principal’s Update on the upcoming changes to the DPS mask mandate!

  • Donation request: Our school is in need of disinfecting wipes, facial tissue and bottled water for students who do not have their own reusable bottle. Donations are greatly appreciated and can be dropped off at our front door. Thank you!

  • 3rd-5th Grade Families: registration for our spring season of Girls on the Run is currently open! Be sure to sign up by Friday, March 4 to ensure your student can attend the first day of practice on Monday, March 7. Visit our website for program details and registration!
