REMINDER:
Sign Up to Receive a Free Kid’s Dentistry Appointment!

Kids In Need of Dentistry’s (KIND) Chopper Topper Dental Sealant Program is visiting our school the week of April 18! This FREE program gives registered children a dental screening and toothbrush, as well as fluoride varnish and sealants as needed, at no cost to your family. To register your child, please return the yellow consent form that went home in our March 25 Friday Folders or stop by our office to pick up an extra form. Your child can participate even if you already have a dentist!

Forms are due to our main office by Wednesday, April 13. For additional information, visit the Chopper Topper website to watch an introductory video about this wonderful program. Please contact our school nurse, Ms. Jennifer Iltis (she/her), at Jennifer_Iltis@dpsk12.org with questions.

Help Our Noses!

We are in need of facial tissue donations, especially with all of our spring allergies! If your family is able to make a donation, please feel free to drop it by the front door or send a few tissue boxes in with your student. Our kids’ noses will thank you (and we will, too!).

Please RSVP for Our “We Are All Together Now” Celebration!

You are cordially invited to celebrate our incredible McKinley-Thatcher community by joining us for our “We Are All Together Now” school auction and celebration, with options for both virtual and in-person participation!

Our virtual auction runs from Friday, May 6 to Friday, May 13 and will be hosted digitally on Auctria (link coming soon!). Auction proceeds help the McKinley-Thatcher PTA support critical educational initiatives.

Our in-person “We Are All Together Now” celebration is Saturday, May 14, from 10:30am to 1:30pm (please note the updated event times!) on our school grounds. Come join our community for a morning of food, fun, bounce houses, and activities with our specials teachers!

In Other News…

  • We are sad to share that Ms. Melanie Exposito, our office manager, has resigned to take a job at the local pediatrician’s office. We’ll miss her, but we wish her the best of luck in her new adventures!

  • This month, we are teaching and learning about our fourth school value, lead by example!

  • Please mark your calendars: we have NO SCHOOL on Friday, April 29! This is a McKinley-Thatcher staff planning day.

  • Save-the-Date: our next PTA restaurant fundraiser is coming up on Monday, April 18 and Tuesday, April 19 at Chook Charcoal Chicken! We’ll share more information about this next week.

  • Save-the-Date: our April PTA meeting is Tuesday, April 19 at 7:30am (morning drop-off) on our playground. PTA is holding elections for next year, so please join the April meeting or email McKinleyThatcher@gmail.com if you’d like to get involved as a board member. And don’t forget to bring your own cup for our FREE coffee!
