Fundraiser Days with Chook Charcoal Chicken: April 18 & 19!

Thanks to our PTA, we have an amazing fundraiser with Chook Charcoal Chicken this coming Monday and Tuesday, April 18 and April 19! To participate in this fundraiser, dine in (1300 S. Pearl St.) or order online any time Monday or Tuesday. If you’re dining in, just mention McKinley-Thatcher to your server; if you’re ordering online, be sure to use the code “SCHOOLS20”!

Join Our Next PTA Meeting: Tuesday, April 19 @ 7:30am!

Our April PTA meeting is on our playground next Tuesday, April 19, right after morning drop-off (7:30am)! Free coffee is provided, so be sure to bring your own cup. PTA is holding their elections for next school year, so please join the April meeting or email McKinleyThatcher@gmail.com if you’d like to get involved as a board member!

Special Update!

Our DPS School Board Member, Scott Baldermann, will be joining our meeting to share an update and to answer any questions from families. Come use this great opportunity to connect in-person with Scott!

Please RSVP for Our “We Are All Together Now” Celebration!

You are cordially invited to celebrate our incredible McKinley-Thatcher community by joining us for our “We Are All Together Now” school auction and celebration, with options for both virtual and in-person participation!

Our virtual auction runs from Friday, May 6 to Friday, May 13 and will be hosted digitally on Auctria (link coming soon!). Auction proceeds help the McKinley-Thatcher PTA support critical educational initiatives.

Our in-person “We Are All Together Now” celebration is Saturday, May 14, from 10:30am to 1:30pm (please note the updated event times!) on our school grounds. Come join our community for a morning of food, fun, bounce houses, and activities with our specials teachers!

  • Save-the-date: Teacher & School Staff Appreciation Week 2022 is Monday, May 2 to Friday, May 6 and our PTA has some big plans to celebrate McKinley staff! (Take a sneak peek at the week’s activities here.) As part of the festivities, PTA is also creating an End-of-the-Year Memory Video! To participate, please send short video messages for your teachers and other staff to julia.prokopovych@outlook.com by Sunday, April 24!

  • REMINDER: the Kids In Need of Dentistry (KIND) Chopper Topper program is visiting our school next week! Kids who’ve returned a signed consent form to our office will receive a FREE dental screening and toothbrush, as well as fluoride varnish and sealants as needed. The sign-up deadline for this program was Wednesday, April 13, but, if you’d like to sign up late, please call us at (720) 424-5600 to see if there is room on the schedule!

  • Please mark your calendars: we have NO SCHOOL on Friday, April 29! This is a McKinley-Thatcher staff planning day.
