Miss Amanda is a Special Education Teacher at McKinley-Thatcher, and has worked here since August 2021. Miss Amanda is originally from Syracuse, New York. She has two younger sisters and is super close with her family. She grew up loving soccer & Mia Hamm, but switched to becoming a runner in high school when she realized she could only really run up and down the field. She ran cross country and track in high school and college.
Miss Amanda attended the University at Albany (SUNY) where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in English and her Master’s degrees in Special Education & Literacy. Before working here, she taught Special Education Kindergarten in New York for 6 years.
Some of Miss Amanda’s favorite things include dogs, running, Amazon and ice cream. When she is not at school, Miss Amanda likes to spend her time traveling, hanging out with family and friends and running or hiking.
