Lauren Lee Garcia (or, as she’d like to be called by students & families, ‘LG’) is excited to join McKinley-Thatcher’s community this year as the Drama Teacher! She was born and raised in Northern Colorado and has had a passion for the performing arts from the moment she could walk and talk. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Education from the University of Northern Colorado. After graduating, LG taught middle school drama for 4 years in Denver Public Schools.

She recently returned from London, where she was getting her Masters of Arts in Theatre for Young Audiences.

When she is not teaching, she likes to scrapbook and create vision boards, perform, write new drama works, play and cuddle with her cat, Milo, and spend quality time with her friends & family.

She believes that theatre and drama are essential to the development of the whole child and is passionate about student’s becoming today’s storytellers.
