Just a reminder that our next PTA gathering is this coming Tuesday, March 15 at 7:30am (right after drop-off) on the playground! PTA will be chatting about ideas for a grant fund for teachers to support them with unforeseen needs/expenses throughout the school year, as well as a social opportunity for McKinley families to attend a DU Hockey game together on April 16!
Bring your own cup for some free coffee from Broken Beak Coffee! We hope to see you!
Just a reminder that our PTA is partnering with Modern Plate Meal Delivery to host a two-week fundraiser for our school now through Monday, March 21. Modern Plate delivers family-style, chef-crafted meals right to your doorstep!
For more information, check out our fundraiser flyer here or on ClassDojo!
The McKinley-Thatcher PTA relies on our annual auction event to raise money for critical educational initiatives! This volunteer-run event relies on parent and community support for all auction donations and full event execution. We thank you in advance for your generous donations of goods, services or cash, which will help us exceed our goal of $20,000 raised and ensure our students maintain full access to the books and resources that grow big dreams and inspire our next generation of leaders.
If so, please fill out our Google form here or return the paper form that came home in your child’s March 4 Friday Folder.
Contact your auction co-chairs, Katie Millard and Liz Smith, at mctauction@gmail.com with any questions.
Down Syndrome (or Trisomy 21) is a naturally occurring chromosomal arrangement that has always been a part of the human condition. All around the world, World Down Syndrome Day is celebrated on March 21 by the #LOTSOFSOCKS Campaign.
All you need to do is choose socks that are going to get noticed – they might be mismatched socks or your silliest, most colorful socks. The idea is to start a conversation, so when people ask you about your socks you can tell them “I’m wearing them to raise awareness of Down Syndrome!”
In addition to wearing exciting socks, our staff and students will be learning about Down Syndrome and familiarizing ourselves with the ideals of World Down Syndrome Day: We are more alike than different!
